Senior Systems Administrator

Overview

This is a hands-on technical position in LifeYield Operations team and is responsible for implementation, availability, and security of LifeYield systems and services.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of company IT infrastructure availability and security, reporting to the Director of Operations
  • Research and recommend technologies to meet business goals
  • Design, create and deploy production, development, and test environments to serve company software
  • Participate in Operations team projects
  • Work with enterprise clients’ risk assessment and IT due diligence teams
  • Work with Development teams to design and update Production service infrastructure
  • Work with vendors to obtain quotes, make purchases, schedule services, coordinate transitions
  • Document and update technical operational procedures
  • Document and update computer and network security, disaster recovery, data access and other IT infrastructure-related policy and procedure documents
  • Coordinate and maintain company and customer data backups and recovery procedures

Qualifications

12+ years of experience in network operations, systems administration and computer and network security, including skills in the following list:

  • Data center environments
  • High availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery
  • Virtualization, Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service environments; AWS and/or Azure.
  • Networking concepts: OSI Layers, TCP/IP, Routing, NAT, VPN, VLAN, DNS
  • Network and Security appliances: Routers, Firewalls, Layer 2/3 Switches, Load Balancers, IDS/IPS
  • Microsoft server operating systems
  • Mission critical customer data backups
  • Centralized, planned, and reviewed OS and third-party software upgrades
  • Familiarity with IT Security Risk Assessment processes
  • Familiarity with creation and maintenance of IT Security, Compliance and Governance policies
  • Centralized hardware, software and security/threat monitoring and alerting; log storage and synchronization
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide mentorship and leadership to team members

Familiarity with any of the following is a plus:

  • Industry security, privacy and compliance standards; HIPAA, SSAE 16 SOC 2, PCI DSS, NIST and similar
  • Secure Credential Stores, Key Vaults, and related service integrations
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • RDBMS management (SQL Server, Postgre SQL)
  • DevOps workflows; Build & Deploy Automation
