Honorees Recognized for Retirement Planning Leadership and Pathbreaking Service to Industry

Washington, D.C., March, 2009 – MMI, the national organization for the managed investment solutions and wealth management industry, today announced its two Pioneer Award Winners. The winners will be recognized at the Gateway to Leadership Fundraiser dinner on March 26, 2009 in Philadelphia at the 2009 MMI Annual Convention. The Pioneer Award is bestowed each year on individuals who embody MMI’s mission to serve as an advocate and catalyst for growth for the managed investment solutions and wealth management industry.

The winners this year include:

Jack Sharry, Executive Vice President of Strategic Development, LifeYield

Jack Sharry has more than 25 years experience in the financial sector, demonstrating innovation in roles spanning sales and marketing, product development and distribution. Mr. Sharry is widely recognized as an industry expert on retirement income services and solutions. As a founding member and Governor of MMI, Mr. Sharry conceived of and initiated MMI’s annual Sales and Marketing Leadership Summit and is the Chairman of the MMI Retirement Solutions Committee.

Cheryl Nash, Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Business Development, Fiserv (formerly CheckFree)

Cheryl Nash exemplifies the definition of a Pioneer by having helped lead the industry’s most established platform provider for more than 25 years. Ms. Nash is an original employee of what was Security APL, helping to grow and innovate the platform which now supports more than 300 clients and close to 3 million accounts. Ms. Nash is the co-chair of the MMI Technology and Operations committee, whose mission is to develop efficient operations and to press for industry-wide improvements, including the communications standards.

“The focus of the awards this year was on industry leaders who embody the characteristics of a pioneer, especially in challenging times,” said Christopher L. Davis, president of MMI. “Both of this year’s seasoned honorees were instrumental in establishing foundations on which the industry has grown and improved. Cheryl Nash is recognized for her work at Fiserv (formerly CheckFree) and especially for her foresight in developing a solution for UMAs. Jack Sharry is recognized for his work helping to form MMI and steering his fellow industry executives to develop solutions for retirement income management and security.
